What inspired your interest in public health?

I was inspired to pursue public health because it is closely connected to our everyday lives and has the potential to improve the well-being of entire populations. Unlike clinical medicine, which focuses on treating individual patients, public health aims to prevent diseases and promote health at the community and population levels. I find it incredibly meaningful that, by designing and implementing effective prevention programs, we can reduce the burden of disease and make a lasting impact on society. Contributing to healthier communities gives me a strong sense of purpose and achievement.

What public health issue or area are you most passionate about, and why?

I am particularly interested in the global burden of disease, trade and health, oral health, migrant health, and mental health. My research focuses on population-level and cross-country analyses because comparing different countries allows us to identify effective policies and learn from diverse health systems and experiences. In today’s interconnected world, health challenges extend beyond national borders. I believe it is important to understand global health issues and work toward improving the health and well-being of people around the world.

Briefly describe the TIPH Global project you are supporting and your role in it.

I have actively participated in a wide range of TIPH Global activities organized by our college, including workshops, conferences, international student events, and outreach programs. In addition to participating in these activities, I have helped promote TIPH Global events and shared information about the program with students and visitors. Through these experiences, I have contributed to strengthening international engagement and fostering a more connected and collaborative learning environment.

What do you hope your project will contribute to your institution, community, or the broader public health field?

Our project has organized a variety of activities, including internal training programs and community outreach initiatives. I hope these activities will continue to grow and provide students with valuable opportunities to develop their public health knowledge, leadership, and practical skills. By equipping students with the necessary training and experience, I believe they will be better prepared to participate in outreach projects and make meaningful contributions to their communities and the broader public health field.

What are your future study or career interests?

I plan to continue pursuing a career in academia and focus on the research areas I am most passionate about, including the global burden of disease, trade and health, oral health, migrant health, and mental health. I also hope to expand my international research network by collaborating with researchers from diverse disciplines and countries. Through my research, I aim to generate evidence that informs public health policies and contributes to improving population health worldwide.
