GNAPH Members Honored by the United Kingdom Faculty of Public Health

The United Kingdom Faculty of Public Health is the standard setting body for professional public health in the UK. Their annual awards ceremony took place on June 15th, 2026, and honoured some outstanding figures from our global academic community. Sir Michael Marmot, of the Institute for Health Equity at the University College London, an ASPHER member, gave the keynote address and was awarded the FPH President’s Medal. Dr Laura Magana, Founding President of GNAPH, and President and CEO of ASPPH, was awarded Honorary Fellowship, the highest honour for a public health professional for outstanding service in public health. Also receiving Honorary Fellowship were Professor Mary Codd and Professor Sanjay Zodpey. Mary Codd is Professor of Public health at University College Dublin, and President-Elect of the Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region (ASPHER). Sanjay Zodpey is President of the Public Health Foundation of India. He has also led the Indian Institute of Public Health, Delhi as its Founding Director.

The Global Network for Academic Public Health sends its congratulations to these eminent members of our global public health family and sends our very best wishes, solidarity and congratulations to all the recipients of awards at the UK Faculty of Public Health ceremony.
