Climate and Health Communities of Practice

The Communities of Practice (CoPs) are regional, faculty-led learning networks designed to support public health educators in integrating climate and health content into curricula. Building on the Climate-Ready Classrooms course, the CoPs will offer support for faculty to apply new knowledge and skills through structured peer exchange.

Each CoP is facilitated by a regional faculty lead and will bring together participants for a six-month series of bi-monthly virtual sessions. Participants will collaboratively explore curriculum integration strategies, share resources and teaching materials, and develop deliverables tailored to their unique institutional and regional contexts. Activities emphasize local relevance and include sessions on climate-health linkages, pedagogical approaches, curriculum mapping, and institutional advocacy.

GNAPH will support each CoP through its regional member associations, ensuring that structure and activities remain flexible to align with local priorities while maintaining global coherence. Outputs will include teaching materials, integration plans, an advocacy toolkit, and lasting networks of climate and health educators.

Stay tuned for upcoming information on eligibility, session logistics, and how to apply to participate in your regional CoP.

Regional Climate and Health Community of Practice Faculty Leads

The main role of the Regional Faculty Lead will be to coordinate and facilitate the CoP within their GNAPH region in order to support faculty who participated in the Climate-Ready Classrooms course – or an equivalent GCCHE course – to integrate climate and health content into their institutions’ public health curricula. The CoP will run from April through August 2026, with a time commitment of approximately 4–5 hours per month. Regional Faculty Leads will receive an honorarium for their contributions.
